1. Data controller
Vola Labs Ltd ("Pars", "we") is the data controller for the Pars: AI Gym Coach app. Contact: destek@volalabs.co.uk
2. What data do we collect?
- Account data: name, email address (with Sign in with Apple, the identity details Apple shares).
- Profile and goal data: birth year, height, weight, sex, training experience, injury/limitation flags, fitness goals, equipment preference.
- Training data: programs, completed sets (weight, reps, perceived effort), body-weight measurements.
- Health (HealthKit) data: only with your permission — weight and workouts sync with Apple Health. Weight samples read from Health stay on your device only and are never uploaded. If you attach a watch-recorded workout to a session, that session's average heart rate and calories are stored on our servers as part of the session record and may be used for coaching (see section 4). HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing.
3. Where is your data stored?
Your data is stored on servers operated by Vola Labs (Appwrite infrastructure) and in the local database on your device. Workout logs are stored on-device first while offline and sync to the server when a connection is available.
4. AI processing
For program generation, coach notes and the coach chat, relevant data is sent to the API of our AI provider, Anthropic. This never includes your name, email or identity details. Depending on the feature, the data sent may include: goal, experience level, equipment, set/rep/weight numbers, age, sex, height, injury/limitation flags, weight history and workout metrics (duration, average heart rate, calories). Anthropic does not use this data to train its models (per its API data policy).
Your coach chat messages are not stored on our servers — chat history lives only on your device; messages are sent to the AI provider solely to generate a reply, in the moment. The coach chat offers general fitness guidance and is not medical advice.
5. Third parties
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, HealthKit (on-device), subscription payments and subscription status verification (App Store — your payment card details never reach us).
- Anthropic: de-identified training/profile metrics and coach chat messages (see section 4).
Your data is never sold to any third party and never shared for advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. From within the app, Profile → Delete account permanently deletes your account and all of your data (server + device); the action is immediate and cannot be undone.
7. Your rights (GDPR / Turkish KVKK art. 11)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your data. Send requests to destek@volalabs.co.uk; we respond within 30 days at the latest.
8. Changes
Updates to this policy are published on this page; we notify you in the app of any material changes.
